How much do residential architects in San Francisco charge?
I'm trying to find out how much I should expect an architect to charge for designing a remodel. The remodel is converting an undeveloped basement into a livable space including a new bathroom and some foundation work.

I believe the standard rate for an architect is about 10% of the total project. That is why some architects add lot of bells and whistles....but a small project may have a fixed rate. Call a couple architects and just ask.
